ACRF CEO Dr. Jannah Scott met with the Honorable Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations in Azerbaijan. Chairman Mammadov has an illustrious history as a former member of Parliament, special representative to Armenian populations from Azerbaijan, and now head of the State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations.
In this role, Chairman Mammadov oversees governmental engagement with Azerbaijan's diverse religious community. Dr Scott and Chairman Mammadov discussed possibilities for future collaborative efforts both in the US and abroad.
Dr Scott states "It is a great honor to have been asked to collaborate with the Chairman in his new role. We will learn much from each other in our joint efforts.
The Chairman brings extensive experience from his time in Parliament and from working with communities during conflict, while I offer much experience based on prior work with multicultural and multifaith groups both in the US and Azerbaijan during my 8 years with the Obama Administration and beyond".
Updates on collaborative efforts will be provided in future blog postings.
